Hello and welcome to a Wednesday post! I am bypassing WW to post “California Month Two”. I’ve been in California for two months! The time has flown. This post is basically me saying things we’ve done for anyone living on this coast and for me to look back on in the future. Here we go,
- Ice Cream Lab– When we vacationed here last summer, i went to ICL. It is a place where they take the ingredients to ice cream, blast them with nitrogen, and serve it to you in a matter of fifteen minutes. I didn’t know we had one near us and went the other day. Very good ice cream that leaves you feeling light, not heavy or loaded with sugar.
- Wetzel’s Pretzels – This is a west coast chain that is amazing! I am addicted to their pizza pretzels! Would really recommend to anyone on the West Coast
- Santa Barbara – I just decided to group these together because they are all in SB. (A) Brophy Bros. is an amazing restaurant right in the harbor. We were walking around and saw people paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, surfing, and a seal. Really great fish and chips. (B) Stearns Wharf (SB pier) has a really great view and some restaurants, gift shops, and an ice cream place. (C) SB Mission is a old church with a vineyard, fountain, sculptures, and mosaics. (D) State Street is a street with tons and tons of shops that sell things ranging from clothes to art to food to stationary supplies. (E) I really like the feel of SB. There are few homeless and it feels very safe.
- Santa Monica – Like SB, i grouped these together because they are in SM. (A) Ye Olde Kings Head is a British pub and shop. The shop sells things that you could never get unless you were back in England and i think the shop is extraordinary, judging by a fellow Brit. (B) SM Pier – This is, like SB, a pier with an amazing view. It has some tourist-y shops and a ferris wheel i took a picture under. (C) Third Street Promenade is a shopping street, like state street, with very nice shops. (D) the only thing that i would say is it has more homeless and is more busy than SB.
