Hello and welcome to a Saturday post! Here we go,
8/10, i thought this book was very interesting and i loved the sibling relationships it showed and not just love interest relationships. There is only one thing i would change about it and i will share that after the synopsis.
A boy walks into the locked-in auditorium full of people and pulls out a gun. This book alternates between many different perspectives, some on the school campus and some not, and each one having a reason to fear the boy with the gun. In a bid to escape, who will show courage and who will not? Who will help and who will not? Who will survive… and who will not?
“Everyone I’ve loved,” I whisper. “Everyone i love is slipping through my fingers.”
Fareed bows his head. “For the first few weeks after we came here, my father would tell me the same thing every night: You can’t always keep your loved ones with you. You can’t always settle your life in one place. The world was made to change. But as long as you cherish the memories and make new ones along the way, no matter where you are, you’ll always be at home.” (page 253)
I’d say this is close to being in my favorite list and it sounds scarier than it is. The one thing i would change was the fact that a very main character did end up dying. I read this book in under 24 hours because it’s one of those books that is nearly impossible to set down. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!
Thanks for reading and come back for more random posts! Until next time,
